Sailing cruise in Crete

In cooperation with our skippers and partners we are glad to invite you on our two week cruise through the Aegean Sea, from the port of Athens to the island of Crete.
This adventure is an opportunity to discover long distance sailing on a 50 feet sailing yacht with an experienced, professional and friendly crew.
You will sail more than 500 nautical miles in two weeks, discover Chania in Crete, visit Gavdos, the most southern island of Europe, as well as the islands of Milos, Kithira, Hydra and Poros.

The Itinerary

 

The Schedule.

Sunday 22nd of October: Embark at 10:00 am at Alimos marina in Athens. Meet the rest of the passengers and crew, and get confortable with your cabin and common areas of the yacht.
Departure for Poros – (35 Nautical Miles)

Monday 23rd of October: Departure around 7:30 am from Poros to the island of Milos – (60 NM).
Visit Adamas, the port of Milos where the famous Venus of Milo was discovered.

Tuesday 24th of October: Early departure at 06:00 am from Milos to Chania in Crete – (80 NM).
Moorring in the old Venetian port and dinner in a traditional Cretan taverna, aka “rakidio”.

Wednesday 25th of October : Chania , Crete. Free day to visit Chania. Dinner in a taverna.

Thursday 26th of October : Departure at 08:00 am for Paleochora Sud-West of Crete. – (50 NM). Swimming et strolling.

Vendredi 27 Octobre : Departure at 10:00 am for Gavdos island (30 NM). Gavdos is the most southern island of Europe. Cretan traditonal lunch.

Saturday 28th of October: Departure at 14:00 pm for Paleochora (30 NM). Swimming and strolling.

Sunday 29th of October: Paleochora, Crete. Change of crew, disembarkation before 10:00 am and embarkation of the new crew around 14:00 pm.

Sunday 29th of October: Paleochora, Crete. Change of crew, disembarkation before 10 am and embarkation of the new crew towards 14 hours.

Monday 30th of October: Meet the rest of the passengers and crew, and get confortable with your cabin and common areas of the yacht. Free day in Paleochora. Swimming and visiting.

Tuesday 31th of October: Departure at 08:00 am for Gramvousa – (32 NM). Very beautiful, small and unpopulated island that was once a refuge for pirates. On the most elevated part of it you can find the ruins of a large fortress overlooking the sea. All meals on board

Wednesday 01st of November: Departure at 08:30 am for Kythira – (48 NM). This is the island where the Greek goddess Aphrodite was born and it is known as the island of the winds.

Thursday 02nd of November: Departure at 08:30 am for Monemvasia, on the coast of the Peloponnese- (28 NM).
Visit of the medieval castle-city and dinner.

Friday 03rd of November : Departure at 08:30 am for Hydra – (40 NM) a picturesque island free of cars where the only mean of transportation is the donkey.
Leonard Cohen used to spend his summers.

Hydra Saronic

Saturday 04th of November: Departure at 07:00 am for Alimos, Athens (48 NM).  Swimming in Poros or Aigina.
Dinner in a taverna

Sunday 05th of November: Check out before 10:00 am.

  • First week

    The rate is 800 euros per person for half board charter
    The price includes boat, skipper / guide services, fuel, insurance, VAT, harbor fees and provisions (food and beverages)

 

  • Second week
    Embarkation at Paleochora on Sunday 29 October – Disembarking on Sunday 05 November at the marina of Alimos (See Yellow itinerary on map)
    The rate is 800 euros per person for half board charter
    The price includes boat, skipper / guide services, fuel, insurance, VAT, harbor fees and provisions (food and beverages)

 

The cost for two weeks is 1500 euros per person. (Red and yellow itinerary)
The cost for a couple is 750 euros per person per week.
All extra expenses on the islands, taverns, visits or others is yours.

Some sailing experience is desired but not mandatory.
For those who wish to learn, the skipper will provide information on basic sailing manoeuvres.
Your skipper will also serve as a guide so you can discover and visit places of interest.
On these trips, it is important to have an open mind to make new friends and be part of a team.
